BBC Panorama and the Bureau for Investigative Journalism have unmasked a scheme in which Deloitte, the world’s largest accountancy firm, assisted Roman Abramovich in falsifying and back‑dating documents to conceal his wealth and evade UK taxes.
The investigation uncovered hundreds of fabricated records that were used by Abramovich’s advisers to hide billions of euros from tax authorities. Despite the evidence, Abramovich has denied any wrongdoing.
