At least three Palestinian women have been killed and eight more injured after missile debris hit a beauty salon in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, according to reports from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS).
The PRCS reported that shrapnel struck the salon located in the town of Beit Awwa, near Hebron, in the southern West Bank. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa indicated that fragments landed on a metal caravan used as a salon and several other areas in the West Bank.
This incident occurred shortly after the Israeli military announced that Iran had fired missiles towards its territories, prompting efforts to intercept the threats.
The victims were identified as Mais Ghazi Masalmeh, 17, Sahira Rizq Masalmeh, 50, and Amal Sobhi Abdel Karim Matawa' Masalmeh, 36.
In response to the incident, at least five ambulances rushed to the scene, uncovering multiple casualties and injuries. The bodies of the deceased, along with other victims who sustained critical and moderate injuries, were transported to a local hospital.
The initial death toll reported by the PRCS was four women, but it was later revised to three.
Rescue teams faced significant difficulties in reaching the site due to the closure of iron gates, which hampered timely medical assistance for the injured.
Efforts to gather comment from the Israeli military regarding this tragic event are ongoing.
