US President Donald Trump and the leaders of Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey have signed a declaration for bringing peace to Gaza at a summit in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el-Sheikh.

A new and beautiful day is rising and now the rebuilding begins, said Trump, praising regional leaders who helped cement the truce between Israel and Hamas.

In a spirited address before the Israeli parliament, the Knesset, Trump stated that the long and painful nightmare is finally over. Israel is set to release 250 Palestinian prisoners and over 1,700 others detained during the military operations in Gaza in exchange for the last 20 Israeli hostages held by Hamas.

The exchange represents the initial phase of Trump's peace plan and is also expected to include the return of 28 deceased Israeli hostages. Trump was accompanied by Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and numerous leaders from around the globe, where he expressed satisfaction with the rapid progression of negotiations.

He further anticipated the establishment of a 'board of peace' to govern the region. Post signing, President al-Sisi awarded Trump the Order of the Nile, Egypt's highest honor, reaffirming the significance of the agreement.

Alongside Trump, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas attended the summit, marking a possible shift in his political standing after a recent exclusion from the UN General Assembly. However, the role of the Palestinian Authority in future negotiations still remains uncertain. Trump indicated that further negotiations will soon follow as part of a comprehensive peace strategy.

Highlighting the momentous nature of this agreement, Netanyahu and other Israeli officials commended Trump's role, portraying him as Israel's most supportive ally. However, dissenting voices within the Knesset were evident, underscoring varying opinions on the continuation of Israel’s military strategy.

With chants of Trump, Trump, Trump echoing in the Knesset, Trump declared it a historic moment, reminiscent of previous diplomatic breakthroughs during his presidency. As political tensions persist, the global community's focus will undoubtedly remain on the long-term outcomes of this peace initiative.
