Afghan police in Nimroz province on October 29, 2026 rescued 127 people who were attempting to cross the border illegally, seizing five vehicles in the process. Official spokesman Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat warned that any traffickers would face strict action. The raid follows a similar operation last week that stopped a trafficking plan involving 89 people.

Afghan police in Nimroz province rescued 127 people who were trying to cross the border illegally on Wednesday, October 29 2026, according to spokesman Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat.

The operation also seized five vehicles that were used by the suspected traffickers to transport the victims, the official said.

Qudrat warned that police would not allow anyone to cross the border illegally and said that strict action would be taken against those involved in human trafficking.

He noted that last week police had foiled another attempt, stopping a plan that would have trafficked 89 people and arresting three suspected traffickers in the same province.

The rescue comes amid ongoing reports that many Afghans continue to leave the country illegally in search of work, driven by poverty and unemployment in the war‑torn nation.
