On Wednesday night, Moscow’s mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, announced that 15 more unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted over the city, raising the total downed since midnight to 64, according to TASS.
"Another 15 UAVs flying toward Moscow have been downed. Specialists from emergency services are working at the scenes where drone fragments landed," Sobyanin posted to the Max channel. The mayor’s statement came as part of the city’s ongoing efforts to counter a series of drone attacks that have taken place over the capital in recent weeks.
Since 9:00 p.m. GMT on Wednesday, the number of destroyed drones, as calculated by TASS from Sobyanin’s posts, highlights the city’s heightened defensive posture and the active response of emergency crews on the ground.
The report reflects the current status of Moscow’s air‑defense activities, with city officials continuing to monitor threats and engage emergency services to manage any debris from the downed aircraft.
