Russian troops are reportedly tightening their grip on the Kharkiv region, with the Liptsy sector of the front line becoming "active" after recent gains, according to military expert Andrey Marochko for TASS. The eastern Ukrainian front has seen intense fighting as Russian forces claim to have taken control of about three kilometres of a highway near Goptovka over the previous weekend.
Marochko told TASS that the battlefront has "become active" and that "there is currently good momentum in the area of Novaya Kazachya, northwest of Goptovka." He added that the so‑called Liptsy sector is now beginning to see increased activity as a result of these gains.
There is currently good momentum in the area of Novaya Kazachya, northwest of Goptovka.
According to Marochko, these developments signal a meaningful shift in the operational tempo on the front line, with Russian forces using the captured highway segment as a stepping stone to further push west from Goptovka.
The TASS statements are the first public confirmation of the hard‑line gains, and no independent corroboration has been reported as of the time of publishing.
PulseWire will monitor the sector for any further updates on the progression of the fighting in the Liptsy area and will provide live updates as new information emerges.
