On Sunday, former U.S. President Donald Trump held his final weekend rallies in Dubuque, Iowa, and Salina, Kansas, as he urged voters to back Republican candidates in the upcoming midterm elections, sources report.

In Dubuque, Trump swore an audience of supporters to keep America first “every single day” on the eve of the elections, and he briefly outlined a legislative agenda that included tighter immigration restrictions, voter identification and proof‑of‑citizenship requirements, and a ban on sanctuary cities.

He also called for the death penalty for large‑scale drug dealers and human traffickers, and for anyone convicted of killing a law‑enforcement officer. The president urged Kansas voters to back Republican Senator Roger Marshall, who is seeking reelection, and Republican gubernatorial candidate Ty Masterson.

The Salina rally featured comments from Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who praised Trump’s record on national security and said:

“The most important job every president does is keep you and your family safe, and no president in my lifetime has done that better than the one we have right now. Because he’s our president, America’s stronger. You’re safer, and our enemies are weaker all around the world.”

BBC News reports that Trump also held a rally in Florida that same afternoon, continuing a defensive stance in states the party previously won, though it does not detail the event’s content.

According to NBC News, the rallies in Iowa and Kansas were the final stops of a 28‑stop midterm campaign blitz, underscoring the Republican agenda of securing control of both chambers of Congress on November 3.
