Three people have died after a helicopter crashed off the Hawaiian island of Kauai, police reported. The helicopter, operated by Airborne Aviation, was carrying one pilot and four passengers when it crashed approximately 100 yards from Kalalau Beach. Kauai's Mayor Derek Kawakami praised the efforts of first responders, expressing a communal spirit tied to how they treat visitors. Here on Kaua'i, whenever somebody puts their feet on our soil, they are one of ours. We treat them like one of ours; they are a part of our family, he stated.
Coast Guard's Remarks
Andrew Williams, the search and rescue coordinator for the Coast Guard, shared sentiments of sorrow over the loss, emphasizing that thoughts are with the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time.
