LA 2028 Olympics Chief Expresses Regret Over Past Emails with Ghislaine Maxwell

Casey Wasserman, the chairman of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, has publicly expressed his deep regret regarding flirtatious emails he exchanged with Ghislaine Maxwell, a convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein. These messages, some dating back to 2003, were recently included in a massive document release by the U.S. Department of Justice.

In one of the emails, Wasserman wrote to Maxwell, I think of you all the time... So what do I have to do to see you in a tight leather outfit? This correspondence has revived discussions surrounding Maxwell's extensive criminal history, as she is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her involvement in the trafficking and sexual abuse of underage girls, facilitated by Epstein.

Wasserman has stated, I deeply regret my correspondence with Ghislaine Maxwell which took place over two decades ago, long before her horrific crimes came to light. He also clarified that he has never had a personal or business relationship with Epstein, although he previously traveled on Epstein's plane as part of a humanitarian trip with the Clinton Foundation in 2002.

Document releases have raised renewed scrutiny of high-profile individuals' associations with Epstein, despite no evidence of wrongdoing found in the emails. Wasserman expressed remorse for any associations with both Epstein and Maxwell and has been contacted for additional comments by the BBC.

In a broader context, Ghislaine Maxwell agreed to testify before a congressional committee investigating the federal government's handling of Epstein's files. The committee has also summoned notable figures, such as former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, for testimony due to their historical associations with Epstein.

Epstein, who was first convicted of sexual offenses in 2008, died in his New York prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking charges.
