On Nov. 3, 2026, Brunei Fertilizer Industries (BFI) and Muara Port Company (MPC) announced a new partnership that will strengthen logistics for urea exports. The firms signed agreements that aim to improve terminal operations and streamline export processes, according to Xinhua report sourced through Pelita Brunei.
The partnership is expected to expand economic benefits for local companies, improve Brunei’s logistics capacity, and support the downstream industrial sector, the outlet said. The agreements focus on ensuring that BFI’s granular urea complies with stringent quality, cleanliness and biosecurity standards at every stage of the supply chain.
MPC will continue to provide an integrated logistics solution for BFI’s urea, including containerised land transport and terminal services, a detail added by Borneo Bulletin. This integration is intended to ease the movement of product from the Muara Port to international markets.
The collaborative plan is aimed at boosting local industry and expanding Brunei’s role as a logistics hub in the region. Both firms underscore that the new arrangements will facilitate efficient transit through the deep‑water Muara Port, the main export route for urea.
As the partnership takes effect, Brunei expects the enhanced logistics framework to improve export efficiency, support industrial development and deliver tangible gains for the nation’s economy.
