In brief
French FM Jean‑Noel Barrot announced that Europe will have a voice at the U.S.-led Ukraine‑Russia talks set for Nov. 10‑11 in Abu Dhabi and that France will be represented, though no specific delegate was named. He stressed that European perspectives would not be spoken for by others, and noted that earlier discussions had sometimes excluded Europe. The talks involve Russian and Ukrainian delegations amid ongoing fighting on both sides.
French Foreign Minister Jean‑Noel Barrot confirmed on the French television program "Le Grand jury" that Europe will be represented at U.S.‑led talks in Abu Dhabi that are slated for Nov. 10–11 to discuss ending the Russia‑Ukraine conflict.
Barrot said France will travel to Abu Dhabi and that the “voice of Europe” will be heard in the negotiations, though he did not name a specific representative.
Barrot:
The Europeans will be represented, and France will be in Abu Dhabi to participate in these talks.
He added that France would not allow anyone else to speak on its behalf and that European views would be directly voiced.
Barrot noted that past meetings sometimes excluded European involvement and that “no discussion concerning the future of this continent can ignore our expectations and demands.”
In the coming week, U.S. mediators will host Russian and Ukrainian delegations in Abu Dhabi to address key issues such as territorial disputes and security guarantees.
The conflict between Moscow and Kyiv remains stalled on those points, and fighting continues with air and drone strikes on both sides.
