The Saudi‑led coalition announced on November 2 that its air defenses intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthi militia toward the southern region of Yemen, according to an official statement from Major General Turki Al‑Malki, spokesperson for the coalition.

The announcement was issued from Riyadh and referred to the operation, conducted on November 1, 2026, near the southern frontier where Houthi forces have previously targeted civilian and military infrastructure.

Al‑Malki, speaking on behalf of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen, confirmed that the missile was intercepted before it could carry out its intended strike, thereby preventing potential casualties and damage in the affected area.

The Coalition’s spokesperson described the missile as “ballistic” and noted that it had been fired by the terrorist Houthi militia, implying the ongoing risk posed by the group’s military capabilities in the region.

The incident follows a series of prior attacks attributed to Houthi forces and underscores the coalition’s continued efforts to counter perceived threats to Yemen’s southern provinces.
