In brief

Serbia’s Republican Electoral Commission announced a rerun of parliamentary voting at 53 polling stations for November 1, following the October 25 elections. Thirty‑one sites have undecided results and an additional twenty‑two were annulled, with two located in eastern Serbia’s Bulgarian minority communities. The repeat vote will run from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will seek to finalize seat allocations for the new parliament.

Serbia’s Republican Electoral Commission (REC) announced on Friday that repeat voting will take place on November 1 at 53 polling stations following the October 25 parliamentary elections. The decision covers 31 sites where results could not be determined and 22 stations whose votes were annulled, REC said. Two of the affected stations are in eastern Serbia, an area home to the Bulgarian national minority.

REC President Vladimir Dimitrijevic explained the reasoning in BTA’s report: "Repeat voting would take place at polling stations where the decisions of the competent local electoral commissions had established that the voting results could not be determined." The commission did not disclose the specific reasons for the annulments.

According to faktı.bg, the repeat vote will run from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on November 1, and will provide a final count for all parliamentary seats. The early parliamentary election, which saw a turnout of more than 67 % of the approximately 6.5 million registered voters, resulted in the Student List winning 52.17 % of the votes and United Serbia 39.17 %, with four minority lists also securing seats.

The move follows preliminary results announced by the REC on October 26, and it aims to resolve the uncertainty at the 53 sites before any final seat allocations are made.
