Historic Grammy Win for KPop Song 'Golden'

Golden, the inescapable hit from the movie KPop Demon Hunters, has become the first ever K-Pop song to win a Grammy Award. Performed by the fictional band Huntr/x, it picked up the Best Song for Visual Media award as the Grammy awards got underway in Los Angeles. In addition, it is also nominated for Song of the Year.

Other early winners at the ceremony included British stars Yungblud, The Cure, and FKA Twigs, while the Dalai Lama won best audiobook. The young Aura V made history as the youngest recipient of a Grammy Award, receiving an award for Best Children's Album.

Before the main ceremony began, Kendrick Lamar took home three awards, including Best Rap Song for "TV Off," indicating strong chances for the coveted Album of the Year prize.

KPop Demon Hunters has been a massive success since its release last June, amassing over 480 million views on Netflix, making it the platform's most-viewed film to date. Its soundtrack topped the Billboard charts, underscoring the growing cultural and commercial influence of K-Pop.

Additionally, other nominations and recognition for K-Pop artists continue to rise, with Blackpink's Rosé nominated for three Grammys for her song 'APT'. Recent changes in the Recording Academy have allowed K-Pop artists to join the voting body, suggesting a shift in mainstream music's acceptance and recognition of this genre.

As the Grammy night progresses, the K-Pop community celebrates this landmark moment, marking a progressive acknowledgment of their contribution to global music culture.
