Israeli air strikes in southern Lebanon kill 11, including two children
At least 11 people, including two children, were killed in Israeli air attacks on the village of Kfar Rumman in southern Lebanon, Lebanese state media said.
Nine residents died when a three‑storey residential building was destroyed shortly after midnight, and a second strike on a car killed two paramedics, the National News Agency reported.
The Israeli military has said it is investigating the incident. It carried out the strikes in response to drone attacks by the armed group Hezbollah on Israeli forces in occupied territories, according to Israeli statements.
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has warned that the attacks constitute a “dangerous escalation” that threatens the U.S.‑brokered ceasefire agreed in June to end the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.
Earlier this week, a strike on the same area killed seven people, further heightening the risk of a broader confrontation in the volatile region.
