A 50‑year‑old father and his two sons were rescued after enduring a 16‑hour ordeal on a capsized jet ski off the Thai island of Koh Samui.
The incident, reported to AFP by local government official Amorn Chomchoey, left the family straining to stay afloat while swallowing seawater to keep themselves hydrated. They were found exhausted and pale, with the boys particularly weakened.
Coast‑guard teams swiftly located the family and brought them aboard a rescue vessel. They were subsequently checked in at a local hospital, where they received treatment for dehydration and seasickness.
Both the father and his sons were discharged in a short period, demonstrating the effectiveness of the emergency response along with the resilience of the rescued family.
