Czech police said Thursday that four aircraft heading to Prague had received bomb threats and that they were working with Prague Airport to prepare for the landings. The police assessed the credibility of the threat as low, the reports say.
The Xinhua news agency noted that the authorities received calls alleging explosives had been planted on the planes. In a statement on X, Czech police added that they were coordinating security measures with airport staff to ensure passenger safety.
Reuters, reporting on the same event, echoed the police assessment, saying the threat was considered credible but reported as low in seriousness. Both outlets confirmed the police were taking measures to secure the runways and enforce inspection protocols for the four inbound aircraft.
At present, the four planes are scheduled to land at Václav Havel Airport, but no further details about the planes’ origins or the contents of the threats were released by Czech authorities.
