Car Crash Near Caen Train Station Leaves One Dead, 10 Injured
Police say a vehicle crashed into a crowd near a train station in Caen, Normandy, after a bar fight broke out. The incident left at least one person dead and 10 injured, a spokesperson confirmed.
One suspect was detained and brought into custody following a large emergency operation launched by local authorities. The driver was arrested on site as the emergency response unfolded.
Reports from local media show crowds gathered around police cars and ambulances, with a cordoned area covering the site.
Four people are receiving treatment in the emergency ward of a nearby hospital, while six others are being cared for with less serious injuries.
Detectives from Caen’s Specialised Crime Division are leading an investigation into the cause of the crash. Residents were advised to keep clear of the vicinity around the Caen train station until further notice.
